As 2019 draws to a close, we stand again in awe at another year that has passed in the blink of an eye. I’m always in wonder at how time on Earth seems to be unaffected by us, but we are very much affected by it. In our early teens and twenties, the thought of aging and one day dying never crosses our minds. But, as we enter our early thirties and forties, we notice considerable changes to not only our body, but also our mind, memory, and perspective. A new wrinkle here, a little fatter around the waist there, and voila! We realize that we are indeed mortal and getting older. It is this realization of our own mortality that can be life-changing and one that hopefully propels us into action. As the ancient prophets such as Jesus, Mohammad and Buddha once said, “life, and then eventually death, is a fact of life.”
As 2019 draws to a close, and we take time off to refresh and relax, we as FDNs have the ideal opportunity to take a moment to reflect and take stock of what we have achieved over the past 12-months. Was 2019 a year of emotional, physical, business, and personal achievements, accomplishment, and change for the better? Or did we waste another cycle on Earth due to X, Y & Z?
Though many might believe December is the month to forget and completely let go, it’s actually the perfect month for a reality check. December is the ideal time to reflect, analyze, and write down our goals before the new year arrives, and genuinely commit to taking action and creating a better life for ourselves if that is our desire. Instead of completely zoning out, use the last 30-days of 2019 to set up your mind, body, soul, and FDN business for success in 2020.
Let’s face it – It’s a privilege and honor to be alive on planet Earth today!
It’s a privilege to live in the 21st century, where we have more comforts and convenience than ever before, and information is at our fingertips. Technology is reaching new heights, the field of science is ever pressing forward, and space travel is now within our reach in the next five to ten years. We have the opportunity to work from home (something that was not possible to our grandparents or even parents), inflation is reaching historic lows in some countries, and the gig-economy is gaining more momentum – swelling to an estimated $1.5 trillion in 2020. (Read more about What’s In Store For FDNs – The Gig-Economy 2020, in Our New Years issue available from January 2020.)
As you get ready for the festive season – whether you’ll be celebrating solo or with family and friends – we at FDN Life wish you a very happy and inspiring time. A time to reflect and appreciate what you have achieved over the past year, and in celebration of your victories. But most importantly, embracing change and taking the necessary action steps to set up 2020 to be the best year ever!
Ho Ho Ho & Happy reading!
