Sept 2019 – e-Residency, otherwise known as a virtual residency, is growing in popularity. Especially freelancers, digital nomads, and location-independent entrepreneurs find the freedom of e-Residency and the ability to create a completely online, digital company alluring. Though Estonia, the first country in the world to offer e-Residency, still provides one of the best programs, other countries such as Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Lithuania are joining the ranks.

Luckily, there are countries such as Germany, Estonia, and Georgia that recognize the opportunity a freelance or digital nomad visa holds for the economy in their countries. Location, independents and nomads, can now apply to a German Freelance Visa valid for up to 3-years, or a 1-year Estonian Digital Nomad Visa, or a 1-year Georgian Freelancer Visa.
