FDN Life Magazine - Issue 5 - MENTOR NOTES > JIM ROHN FROM THE WORLD’S MOST INSPIRATIONAL

FDN LIFE >

MENTOR SERIES > From The Worlds’ Most Inspirational – Jim Rohn (Part 4)

FDN LIFE MAGAZINE >

Series: Jim Rohn – FDN Life Mentor of the Year
Part: IV

In our previous articles featured in the Jul-Aug, Sept-Oct and Nov-Dec 2019 issues, we introduced you to our FDN Mentor of the Year, the late Jim Rohn. Probably one of the most inspirational life and wealth mentors of our time. We covered lessons 1 – 5, and learned that self-criticism could be one of the most crippling aspects to achieving anything in life, the importance of paying attention to our personal philosophy about life, love, and money. The importance of changing our personal philosophy if it is hindering our evolution and growth. The power of our attitude, and how we need to take action and do the best we can every single day to achieve our dreams, goals and desires.

In this issue we will cover Lesson 6, where we will learn about:

  • The important of measuring results to ensure we are on track to achieving our goals.
  • Very few people today can blame external forces for failure. Instead, we need to look within ourselves and let our results teach us about our own activity, our own attitude, and our own philosophy.
  • Life is after all a results game, not only financially, but physically and subconsciously.
  • Celebrate successes, fix failures.

Let’s get right to it:

FDN LIFE > MENTOR OF THE YEAR – JIM ROHN

LESSON 6 – SEMINAR VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9TK9zTdB_E
START TIME:
1:03:41 Min

REQUIREMENTS

TAKE NOTES

When we write down what we have learned, the act helps us remember, break down, and internalize information. To benefit the most from this lesson, listen to the seminar video provided and take notes as you follow along. Stop the recording whenever necessary.

LESSON 6

3 OF THE 5 MAJOR PIECES TO THE LIFE PUZZLE

  • #1 – PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY (WHAT WE KNOW)
  • #2 – OUR ATTITUDE (WHAT WE FEEL)
  • #3 – ACTIVITY (WHAT WE DO)
  • #4 – MEASURING RESULTS (WHAT WE ACHIEVE)

MEASURING RESULTS ARE IMPORTANT

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “What is the state of your current finances? Are you broke? Why? How many books have you read this past year? Which seminars did you attend? Which courses did you take?”

Lesson Learned: Did we do the best we could over the past year(s) to achieve the goals we listed for ourselves? Why have we not achieved our goals? Did we spend to much time on Netflix or gaming everyday when we could have attended a seminar or do a course instead? Have you asked yourself why you waste so much time on the things that doesn’t matter? The behaviors, activities and procrastination’s that keeps you from achieving your goals?

LET RESULTS TEACH YOU

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “Blaming the government, taxes or system for your failures is no use. Instead, look within yourself and let your results teach you about your own activity, your own attitude, and your own philosophy.”

Lesson Learned: If we as FDNs take stock of the amount of effort we put into each project we complete for a client, or the amount of time we spend on our own abusiveness’s, skills development and personal attitude, we will come to understand why the income we receive is below what we could achieve or desire. The results we get in life are a direct response to the actions we have taken or the lack there-of.

RESULTS ARE THE NAME OF THE GAME

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “What other game is there? Here is all life asks us to do: ‘Make measurable progress in reasonable time. We demand it of our children, don’t we? How many years do you want your child to spend in 4th grade? If it looks as if they aren’t going to make it in 1-year, we add a little pressure called legitimate pressure. You have to check your results fairly often, some every day.”

EXCUSES WON’T CUT IT

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “A story (excuse) don’t bring you anywhere. The results (numbers) achieved tells you something about the progress you have made.”

Lesson Learned: It is important to analyze our results on a daily, weekly, monthly, yearly and long-term basis to ensure we are on the right track. If we didn’t, we need to analyze why we are not achieving what we set out to do, and make repairs where necessary.

CELEBRATE OR FIX IT!

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “If you want a lesson in life-change, all you have to do is be willing to face the numbers and come up with the results that will teach you to either celebrate if you got good results or fix whatever needs to be fixed in your personal philosophy, attitude and activity (disciplines.)”

FACE THE TRUTH

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “I do believe in affirmations, they are valuable. As long as you affirm the truth. As it says in ancient scripts, ‘And the truth will set you free.’ Free to do what? Amend your errors and pick up new disciplines. That is what the truth is for, to help us amend our errors and pick up the disciplines for life change.”

Lesson Learned: Our ‘results’ in life tells us quite a lot about the actions we have taken, as well as our personal philosophy and attitude. By facing the truth, we have the chance to turn things around for the better instead of continually doing the same things that end up in disaster.

ANYONE CAN DO IT!

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “Personal change. . . anyone can do it. Even kids.”

SUCCESS IS A NUMBERS GAME

Mr. Jim Rohn says, “Success is a numbers game. I’m asking you to mature enough to start checking your own numbers. How many pounds overweigh are you? How many books have you read in the last 90 days to transform your life? To become sophisticated, powerful, healthy, influential and all the other stuff you want, you need to take action. How many classes? How committed are you?

Let 2020 be the year you fix what has been broken, mend your ways if you have not seen results, and set about achieving your purpose in life once and for all. Most importantly, keep track of your results and continually measure if the actions you commit to every day is bringing you closer to your dreams and goals.

Have a fabulous new year!
